Make art like Eric Carle

Hello, my name’s Olaf Falafel. I’m a children’s author, illustrator, dad and also a stand-up comedian. During the Covid-19 lockdowns I created an online Art Club, and each episode was filled with useful drawing tips, funny animations and information about different artists. This week I’m telling you about one of my favourite illustrators, Eric Carle, who wrote The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Carle had a style that was instantly recognisable. It involved making his own sheets of coloured, textured paper and then cutting out shapes from them to make his artworks. This style is a lot of fun to try out.
