Newark, US Tubman monument unveiled A monument dedicated to Harriet Tubman has been revealed in Newark, US. Tubman campaigned to end slavery (the practice of one human being owned by another and forced to obey them). Tubman, a former enslaved person, risked her life to help others gain freedom. The monument, called Shadow of a Face was designed by Nina Cooke John. Paris, France Summit between the UK and France UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and French president Emmanuel Macron held an important meeting. The UK promised £480 million to help France stop people making dangerous crossings across the Channel from France to England in unsafe boats.
