Lucy Edwards The author reveals why she was inspired to create Ella Jones. What inspired you to create this story? Having no authentic representation of blindness as a young person. I wanted to make Ella the hero no one’s ever seen. Can you describe Ella in three words? Courageous, resilient, happy. Do you have a favourite myth? Eos and Tithonus. A Greek myth where Eos, goddess of the dawn, fell in love with Tithonus, the mortal prince of Troy. Eos loved Tithonus so much that she wanted him to live forever like her but forgot to ask to make him young forever too.
