Tron (1982) DVD, Blu-ray, DisneyLife, iTunes, Prime Video A groundbreaking film in terms of visual effects, Tron may look basic today, but it was made at a time when home computers were struggling to display more than five colours on screen at once. Inspired in part by Pong, one of the first videogames, the film is a sci-fi adventure that was initially praised more for its look than its story. A long-awaited follow-up, Tron: Legacy, was released in 2010, but it’s the 1982 original that will be better remembered for being a fun slice of movie history. NO MORE TRON? Disney cancelled plans to make Tron 3 after its 2015 sci-fi film Tomorrowland failed to be a hit.…
