Brave schoolboy sets climbing record

An eight-year-old boy has become the youngest person ever to climb the Old Man of Hoy sea stack. Edward Mills, from Caithness, in the Scottish Highlands, scaled the 137-metre-high cliff in the Orkney Islands off the north coast of Scotland. The climb took him just under five hours. The Old Man of Hoy is two metres taller than the London Eye. The brave schoolboy has raised more than £24,000 for the Climbers Against Cancer charity. He is supporting the cause because his mum has breast cancer. Mills has enjoyed climbing since he was two years old and is part of Scotland’s youth climbing team.
