Earlier this month, villagers and wildlife officials in Madhya Pradesh, India used rope and bamboo to build a ladder in order to rescue a wild leopard that had fallen down a six-metre-deep well. ● LIFESPAN IN THE WILD: Between 10 and 12 years. ● HABITAT: Leopards live in a variety of habitats, including deserts, jungles and mountains across Africa, Asia and the Middle East. ● DIET: Arachnids, small birds, crustaceans, insects, small to medium-sized mammals and reptiles. ● FUN FACT: A leopard’s spots are known as rosettes because their shape is a bit like that of a rose.
