Parties prepare for the election

In the final week before the general election on 4 July, the UK’s political parties were busy campaigning to try to win as many votes as possible. How are politicians preparing? Party leaders have been visiting places across the UK as part of their campaigns to convince voters to vote for them. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, leader of the Conservative Party, has been making promises to keep taxes low. Tax is money collected by the Government from people and businesses. Labour Party leader Keir Starmer has said the party would boost “clean” energy that doesn’t harm the planet and make it easier to see a doctor. The Liberal Democrat leader, Ed Davey, has said his party would improve the NHS and work to clean up rivers and the sea. What…
