Prime faces court case over adverts

The drinks company Prime is being taken to court in the state of Colorado by the US Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC), which supports the US teams. The USOPC says some of Prime’s packaging and adverts use “trademarked” words without permission. The USOPC wants the court to order Prime to stop using its trademarked words. A trademark is a symbol, picture or short phrase that a business owns and that identifies its products. Logos for brands like Disney are trademarked, so that no other person or business can use them without permission. Prime was started by YouTube stars Logan Paul and KSI and often has sports stars in its adverts. However, the USOPC says Prime cannot use words like “Olympic” or “Team USA”.
