Neal Foster, the co-writer and director of Terrible Thames, told The Week Junior that his aim was “to create the most exciting 45 minutes you can have in London”. He said, “We experience the river from Roman times right up to the 20th century, meeting the incredible people who have worked, fought and died on the Thames.” When asked for a fact about London that surprised him, Foster said, “We all know the Great Fire of London started in Pudding Lane, but I’ve always thought Pudding referred to cakes and desserts. However, Pudding actually refers to poo, so Pudding Lane was where they used to collect the puddings of poo and send them to the dung boatss on the river. So I wouldn’t recommend a visit to Pudding Lane!”…
