Baby dinosaurs lived in the Arctic
Traces of baby dinosaurs have been found in the Arctic, suggesting that some dinos lived there all year round. The fossils (bones transformed into rock and preserved for millions of years) were found in northern Alaska in the US by Professor Gregory Erickson and his colleagues from Florida State University. “We were stunned when we discovered the tiny fossils,” he said. The fossils reveal seven types of dinosaur – including a six-month-old meat-eating tyrannosaur. Dino fossils have been found in the Arctic before but scientists weren’t sure if they came from dinos that lived there all year round or were occasional visitors.
