Western banded gecko

Research by the University of California in the US has shown that western banded geckos are just as good at hunting with or without a tail. The lizards can drop their tails to escape predators and experts had wondered if this affected their ability to hunt or find a mate. • LIFESPAN: Five to eight years. • DIET: Spiders, worms and insects such as crickets. • HABITAT: Rocky areas and deserts in the US, although they are also found in cities. • SIZE: Up to 15 centimetres long (including tail). • FUN FACT: In cities, these lizards reduce the number of poisonous scorpions by eating them.…
