A robot that moves like a mouse

A robot that moves like a mouse
Animals, like humans, use their bendy spines to be able to move quickly and easily. Scientists have recently invented a mouse-like robot with a flexible spine, helping it to wriggle, squeeze and turn corners with greater ease than robots with rigid spines. The spine has eight joints to help it bend. It allows the mouse to move 17% faster than when its spine was rigid. Bendy spines could one day help robots take part in search and rescue missions, allowing them to wriggle into tight spaces where humans can’t go. Enjoy these stories?
