Ukraine’s presidential elections delayed

Under normal conditions, there would be an election to choose a new president of Ukraine in March this year. However, Ukraine is under martial law (when a country is run by the military in times of crisis), meaning all elections are forbidden. It would be very difficult to hold an election during wartime. Large numbers of people have had to leave their homes, fleeing either to other parts of Ukraine or abroad, so they wouldn’t be able to vote. In November 2022, President Zelensky said it was not the right time to be holding elections.…
