American mink

Conservationists have managed to get rid of the American mink population in part of East Anglia, England. American mink are an invasive species, which means that they’re not originally from the UK. Their taste for small mammals is one of the main reasons that water vole populations have fallen so much in recent years. ● LIFESPAN: 0–12 years. ● HABITAT: Rivers and coastal areas. ● SIZE: Between 50 and 60 centimetres. ● DIET: Small mammals, birds and fish. ● FUN FACT: They leave their droppings in noticeable locations, like rocks, bridges or fallen trees, as a “scent message” for other mink.…
