There is a close bond between humans and dogs that has evolved over many thousands of years. We love dogs for many reasons, including their loyalty, their sense of fun and how soft and cuddly they are. Now researchers have found another reason why humans might like dogs: their wagging tails. A research team looked at more than 100 studies on tail-wagging. They noted that dogs wag their tails to communicate but that there are different types of tail-wagging that might be sending different messages. Dogs are descended from wolves, a process that began thousands of years ago and took a long time. However, one study looked at puppies and wolf cubs that had all been raised by humans and found that the puppies wagged their tails far more often…
