Don’t you love our cover? It’s always fun choosing the cover image but this week was even better than usual. Basically, we spent a while looking through photos of adorable red squirrels. The story on page 10, about how AI (artificial intelligence) can help boost red squirrels and control grey squirrels, is just one example of how much AI can help us. I’m still trying to imagine even a tiny fraction of the uses to which it can be put but I read a great story during the week about an idea launched by a phone company to outwit scammers. Scammers are criminals who phone people and try to trick them into giving information such as bank details. The phone company is using “Daisy”, a made-up AI granny. When criminals…
