Is it ok to give people pre-loved presents?

Some people say it’s good for the planet and saves money.

Christmas can be an expensive time of year. Not only do people buy each other presents, there are also decorations, food and drinks to pay for. The charity Oxfam is encouraging people to consider giving a second-hand present to a loved one this Christmas. It says it saves you money and is better for the planet. By buying second-hand presents you are creating less waste by reusing something that would otherwise create more pollution if it had to be made new and transported a long distance. However, some people think it’s more thoughtful to buy loved ones new things for Christmas and that it’s ungrateful to give away presents you’ve received from other people. What do you think?
