Countries donate vaccines to Africa

Millions of vaccines against mpox, an illness caused by a virus, are being offered to African countries by other nations. A vaccine is a medicine that trains the body to fight a specific disease. Mpox has been around for many years but, since 2022, increasing numbers of people around the world have become infected. Outbreaks have been particularly bad in some African countries, including the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Mpox can cause a painful rash and low energy.
