Catalonia, Spain Jellyfish numbers boom There has been an increase in jellyfish numbers at resorts on the coast of Catalonia. Almost 7,500 people were stung by jellyfish in the region between May and August – 41% more than last year. Experts say rising sea temperatures have caused the creatures to reproduce more and move north. They are not sure if the change is permanent. US Schools taking action on phone use Across the US, lots of schools have introduced bans or limits on students’ phone use. Using a phone during school hours was banned last year in the state of Florida. This year, two more states, Louisiana and South Carolina, introduced similar policies.
