On 18 August, it was announced that entertainer and TV presenter Bruce Forsyth had passed away aged 89. Forsyth’s career in showbusiness started when he was 11 years old. He sang and tap-danced on a TV show called Come and Be Televised. Asked what his ambition was, he replied, “I want to become a star and buy my mum a fur coat.” Over the decades, Forsyth appeared in films, a West End musical and even released a number of songs. He is best known, though, for becoming the host of some of Britain’s biggest television shows, including Strictly Come Dancing, on which he created one of his most popular phrases: “Keeeeep dancing”.
