In 1859, scientist Charles Darwin published his theory of evolution in a book called On the Origin of Species. Before writing the book, Darwin spent five years travelling the world and collecting samples of plants and animals. He noticed small differences between some animals from the same species, depending on where they were found. He realised that these differences were because the creatures had changed and evolved, over time, in order to be able to eat, drink and escape predators in their particular environment. Darwin said changes come about because “the strongest live and the weakest die”.…
