Barcelona unites after attack

On 17 August, 13 people died in an attack in the city of Barcelona in Spain. More than 130 people were injured. What happened? A van was driven into crowds of people on Las Ramblas, an area that is popular with tourists and locals. People fled and took cover in shops and cafes, and Spanish police rushed to the scene. The police stopped another attack later that day in the town of Cambrils, about 70 miles from Barcelona. Someone tried to drive a car into people and one woman died. Spanish police think the attacks are linked to an explosion in Alcanar, near Cambrils on 16 August. A house in the town blew up, killing at least three people. A group of 12 men have been blamed for the attacks.…
