If you’re feeling brave (and have a strong stomach) the London Dungeon has the perfect creepy exhibition on now. The show tells the story of London’s bodysnatchers. These were people who stole bodies from graveyards for money in the 18th and early 19th centuries. Doctors and scientists didn’t know much about the human body at that time and would buy real ones to study. Some people say that the dark business actually helped medical science. The show focuses on a group known as the London Burkers – John Bishop, Thomas Williams and James May – who stole bodies across London and sold them to hospitals and colleges, like St Bartholomew’s Hospital and King’s College, which still exist today.
