The game maker saving wildlife

Meet the teen who turned his passion into action.

Jackson Mann, aged 15, is passionate about protecting the world’s endangered animal species. Working with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), he’s created a card game, SOS: Save Our Species, which aims to entertain and educate people about species that are under threat. Jackson had the idea for the game on a trip to Costa Rica, Central America. “We were seeing lots of wildlife and playing lots of card games,” said Jackson. “We thought that while kids are engaged with football cards and Pokémon cards, if they were engaged with wildlife cards as well, we could raise awareness for important problems.” Jackson’s favourite species is the African wild dog, which he saw on a safari.
