London children to get polio vaccine

Poliovirus, or polio, a disease that was once thought to have disappeared from wealthy countries, has been found again in several places, including London. To combat the outbreak, the UK Government is offering a vaccine to everyone between the ages of one and nine in all areas of London, starting in places where people have already caught the disease. Parents will be contacted shortly to let them know if their children need the vaccine. Most children in the UK are already vaccinated against polio so there is a very low chance of catching it.…
