UK offers new Covid boosters

The UK Government has announced that it has approved a new vaccine for Covid-19. This will target two variants (versions) of the virus. It is due to be sent to doctors in September. What is the new vaccine? The UK is the first to approve this new Covid-19 vaccine. The new vaccine, which will be called “Spikevax bivalent Original/Omicron”, was developed by the medical company Moderna. It is a “bivalent” vaccine, which means it targets two types of Covid-19 – the original one from 2020 and the Omicron variant, which appeared in late 2021. The Omicron variant is less dangerous than earlier variants. Even so, it is still important to keep people safe from the variant, because some people, such as the elderly, are more vulnerable to it than others.…
