Helping others to learn

In 2015, Indonesian model and actress Dian Sastrowardoyo launched a fund giving money to women for their education. She has helped more than 30 women, who studied subjects such as veterinary medicine and computer science. Hundreds of women in Indonesia have also learned how to code, thanks to her scheme. Sastrowardoyo says her work was inspired by an Indonesian activist called Raden Adjeng Kartini, who fought for women’s rights and education more than 100 years ago. She told news service Al Jazeera, “We are opening the horizons of these girls and now many of them have succeeded.”…
