Arsenal trip up with wrong socks

On 15 March, a Women’s Super League match between Arsenal and Chelsea was delayed by 30 minutes after Arsenal players turned up wearing the wrong socks. Arsenal manager Jonas Eidevall explained that no one realised there was a problem until very late. He explained, “We were told we couldn’t play with those colours and we had to adapt.” Arsenal’s white socks were the same colour as the Chelsea team’s, so they quickly had to buy black ones in the Chelsea club shop, and cover the Chelsea logo with tape.
