Global celebrations for Easter

People all over the world have been celebrating Easter, an important festival for Christians. Pope Francis, the leader of the Catholic church, held an Easter Sunday service for 60,000 people in Vatican City (a tiny country in the city of Rome, Italy) and led a prayer for peace. In the UK, King Charles joined members of his family for a service at Windsor Castle. According to the Bible, Easter Sunday marks the day when Jesus rose from the dead more than 2,000 years ago. Many Christians believe this took place where the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, in Jerusalem, now stands.
