Florida, US New rules for social media On 25 March, Florida’s state governor, Ron DeSantis, approved a law that will ban people under the age of 14 from joining social media. Companies will have to delete any accounts set up by anyone under 14 or risk having to pay a fine (money paid as a punishment). The new rules are due to start in January 2025.
