The champion returns

“Here we go again,” Helen Glover tells The Guardian newspaper. The double Olympic rowing champion, who won a gold medal at London 2012 and in Rio four years later, has announced that she is coming out of retirement to compete at the Olympic Games in Paris next year. Glover, who has three children under the age of six, was the first mum to row for Great Britain in the Olympics when she took part in Tokyo 2020. After Tokyo, she announced she would no longer compete. Now her goal is to prove she can win medals again. “I’ve every reason to believe I’ll be better than I have ever been,” she says.
