Walk the coronation floor

For 10 weeks, visitors to Westminster Abbey, London, will be able to stand on the spot where King Charles will be crowned on 6 May. However, visitors must only wear socks so as not to damage to artwork on the floor. The floor is a mosaic (a design made from tiny tiles) that was laid more than 750 years ago. Since the 19th century it has been protected by carpet, including for Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation in 1953. Visitors can walk on the floor from mid-May.…
