The very first video game Invented in 1958 by US physicist William Higinbotham, the first video game was a very simple tennis game called Tennis for Two. The game shows a horizontal line, representing a tennis court, with a short vertical line in the middle representing the net. Player one had to hit a button, which sent a virtual ball flying over the net, and player two had to hit another button to send the ball flying back again. The game was extremely popular when it was unveiled at an exhibition in the US in 1958; hundreds of visitors lined up to play it.
