WHALE… OR DOLPHIN? Orcas, or killer whales as they are often called, are actually dolphins. They are the largest of the dolphin species. All over the world, thousands of animals are used for wildlife tourism. People travel and pay money to watch monkeys dance and orcas perform stunts, and tourists cuddle tiger cubs and swim with dolphins. It might look like fun, but animal-welfare charities report that in many cases, creatures are suffering. The charity World Animal Protection says that up to 550,000 wild animals are exposed to cruel treatment around the world; in Cambodia, for example, it has been reported that elephants have died from exhaustion after carrying tourists in hot weather.
