We all operate within our own system, and have a way of doing things that works best for us. I've always done a lot of mimicking when it comes to my roping, and my system has included taking mental notes of what I saw working for other people, then incorporating parts of those things into my own system. As a kid, I would rope in the house. I tied a shoehorn to the top of a chair, so it looked like horns, then ran across the room and headed it. On my way back across the room, I heeled myself.
