Rows of neatly trained tomato plants, climbing beans and tumbling courgettes bring buckets of colour and good things to eat in Hannah and Mark Rochell’s carefully cultivated, yet relaxed garden. The couple discovered a passion for growing-their-own after moving to the Isle of Wight from London four years ago, and now love nothing more than pottering outdoors, always accompanied by their dog, Grenson. “Within seven months of moving in we were eating homegrown veg,” says Hannah, a native islander and a keen advocate of greener living. “As a fashion journalist (slowette.com) with an ethical approach, I was thrilled to find a community of slow fashion labels on the island that are instigating a sustainable movement.”
