Amicable. Once you had both agreed your divorce should be amicable, you had to behave well. Or else you were unreasonable. Jess considered she had behaved more than amicably –she, after all, hadn’t put a foot wrong for the whole of their 15-year marriage – but today she didn’t feel very amicable at all.
