A SPOT OF DECORATING THERE COMES A TIME in any home when things look tired. This happens almost imperceptibly, building gradually until tipping point is reached and it can no longer be ignored. Woodwork becomes scuffed by daily to-ing and fro-ing; wallpaper once considered bold now looks dated, and walls are grubby with marks. Fortunately, it doesn’t take much to freshen things up. The miraculous powers of a can of paint cannot be underestimated. An afternoon’s work with a paintbrush, a roller and a tin of emulsion can introduce an entirely new colour scheme.
