MABON Mabon is the final turn of the year. It is the autumn equinox, the date that falls halfway between midsummer and midwinter (this year on 22 September), when day and night are equal in length. And it is the second of the harvest festivals, the third being Samhain, which marks both the end and the beginning of the agricultural year, and is the place we started in autumn last year*. Mabon is sometimes known as ‘harvest home’, and it’s time for the bringing in of the harvest, and a gorgeous moment at the plot and in the landscape.
