Can you read with cold toes? I find it impossible to concentrate when my feet are chilly. As soon as the autumn weather becomes too risky for bare legs, I'm firmly snug in a pair of tights. For a long time, they were purely practical – and that meant reliable black opaques. I'll still wear them but now my legs are treated to a rainbow of tones: indigos and violets, ruby reds and forest greens, and my choice is often determined by the weather and my mood.
