1984 Joins the ANC.
1985 Arrested for challenging the apartheid government at a political forum.
1995 Starts tourism company, African Horseback Safaris, with friends in the Okavango Delta.
1999 Starts Planet Okavango with six local communities.
2004 Founds Take Back The Future, an economic empowerment programme for women in 700 communities across southern Africa.
2008 Gets involved in the formation of Women Forward, the first women’s political party in South Africa.
2008 Creates the first Wonderbag.
2011 The Guardian reports on the Wonderbag at the UN conference on climate change, known as COP17. This leads to an invitation for Sarah to speak at the Eye on Earth summit in Abu Dhabi, a meeting with Jane Goodall, and a partnership with Microsoft.
