Growing up, I was as happy eating eggs and waffles as I was in my ultimate Punjabi eating mode. We looked forward to English Sunday roasts as much as we did dhals and rotis; we enjoyed lasagnes, burgers, traybakes and cakes. My parents had successfully settled in the UK and had managed to bridge our cultures, and my eating reflected that – it was varied, diverse and exciting. We were raised to try everything. Fussy eating was a luxury we were not afforded.
