Rachel Johnson, her husband Dave, and three children moved to Devon in 2016 to set up a horticultural business. After suddenly losing her mum, growing helped Rachel through her grief – and through her garden, she maintains a connection to previous generations. The story so far My appreciation for nature was shaped by my great-grandfather, who lived to 105 and was an enthusiastic storyteller and diarist – his writings from the First World War are in the Imperial War Museum.
