There’s nothing like a good weekend away with friends to help you feel rejuvenated. Where you settle into an easy rhythm, good conversations are had, and belly laughs achieved.
While the friends are the most important component, it also helps to find somewhere convenient, with room for everyone to have their own space but that lets you gather together, too. The West End, on the Hawarden Estate in Flintshire, Wales, is not only surprisingly accessible (20 minutes in a taxi from Chester station), it seems to be made for this kind of conviviality. Set up to cater for four people (as we were), or up to ten, there’s space to think, to get outdoors, to have proper conversations - and, perhaps most importantly, to have a lot of fun.
