STREET STRUTTING Inspired by urban foxes, a night walk in protest and celebration Urban foxes are a common sight at night, moving more freely and fearlessly than many women. Photographer Jayne Jackson and artist Lorna Rees are using the contrast to highlight the fears the nocturnal landscape can hold for many women. To mark the World Health Organization’s global 16 days of activism against genderbased violence, the women created portraits of Dorset women, defiantly occupying the night - ‘Urban Fox’. Inspired by these images, the first ever Foxstrut took place in Bournemouth this winter - a procession of women, dressed in fox orange - both a protest against violence and a celebration of women.
