• March is the time for lots of sowing! Brassicas, peas, celeriac, fennel, potatoes, lettuce, herbs and tomatoes among others – I’ve created a free sowing plan for my followers to download via my mailing list. Also, keep harvesting overwintering greens.
• Buy some good horticultural fleece – 30g thickness minimum – to protect your seedlings and get them off to a good start. Cold winds are worse than frosts, but both can set the growth back.
• Think about treating your plot with slug controlling nematodes. This is a biological control that’s harmless to humans and insects, but contains a natural enemy to slugs and snails.
