Don’t let your footwear rub you up the wrong way The following tips reduce the risk of rub, although they may not gain you style points: Don’t sweat it: moist skin is most likely to get blisters. Change socks if sweaty, or try a moisture-absorbing pair. Socks appeal: wearing two pairs is said to help prevent them rubbing skin (they rub against themselves instead). Avoid bulky seams and don’t wear previously untested – or well worn – socks on a potentially taxing occasion. If the shoe fits: there should be around 1.25cm between your big toe and your shoe. Wear new shoes for 30 minutes around the house before wearing them out to test for rubbing, and apply a plaster or padding over any potentially painful area. Stick it to them: anti-blister sticks…
