There comes a time during any sunny outdoor activity when, no matter how much you love the heat, you crave a bit of shade. How long you hold out before ducking for cover depends a lot on how deep is your tan or, more likely, how pale is your skin.

Standing furled and ready, it only needs to be dropped into the centre of a table or speared into the lawn, then opened, to provide instant shady coolness and to protect those beneath it from damaging UV rays.
