GO & STAY The sandy beaches of Gwithian and Godrevy in Cornwall are a world away from the nearby busy surfing resorts and the tourist-packed streets of St Ives. Wild and windswept, backed by dunes and rocky headlands, they stretch for miles allowing plenty of space for everyone. This is a place to escape from the world, so we were pleased to discover you can actually stay a stone’s throw from the beach, in a small community of wooden chalets and beach houses known as Gwithian Towans. Painted in soft blues and greys, our chalet, Driftwood, was much more than a place to change into your wetsuit and was equipped with everything you might need for a family holiday – from an outdoor shower to wash off the sand, a barbecue and…
