One of the great pleasures of camping is roaming straight from your ‘doorstep’ – exploring on foot and getting to know a landscape by sleeping right there in it. Just for a weekend's stay, though, it can be quite an undertaking, especially if you wish to visit more than one site – and have a toddler in tow. Could a campervan be the answer? Hiring one from Quirky Campers, our family of three decided to travel along the border of England and Wales, singling out nearly wild campsites where we could press pause and refresh ourselves in nature.
